Rwanda Isimbi

A magical single origin from Rwanda that only tastes better as it cools. Imagine a sweet, complex coffee that's perfectly balanced and smooth until the last drop — tart lime and golden raisins are complemented by brown sugar and caramel notes. As they say, the wand chooses the wizard, or in this instance, the coffee chooses the drinker and Rwanda Isimbi is choosing you, friend.
We are thrilled that our friends at Coffee Review gave this one a whopping 93! Here's their blind tasting assessment: Crisply sweet, balanced. Date, brown sugar, pink grapefruit zest, marjoram, baking chocolate in aroma and cup. Delicately bright acidity; crisp, lightly satiny mouthfeel. Long, resonant finish with notes of date and pink grapefruit zest.
From our sourcing partners at Sucafina: The Isimbi blend is inspired by its namesake, the Kinyarwanda word for the white at the top of a volcano that’s also used to refer to something pure. This clean and consistent blend is selected by our QC team in Rwanda. Vertical integration and whole harvest sourcing means that you can count on equitable prices for producers, all while getting a solid 84+ cup perfect for blends, filter or espresso at an accessible price for roasters.
Despite its turbulent history, today Rwanda is one of the specialty coffee world’s darlings – for good reason! Our sister company in Rwanda does an amazing job of bringing the best that Rwanda has to offer to roasters around the world.
