Roaster's Reserve: El Salvador Narwhal
Regular price BZ$61.00
We are thrilled to launch Roaster's Reserve: El Salvador Narwhal, the most exclusive single origin we've ever brought to our menu in over seven years of roasting coffee. And trust us, this one was worth the wait.
From the same farm as El Salvador Unicorn, our friend Anny Pimental of Finca Loma La Gloria discovered some special beans on her property that she determined to be the "nectar" of the coffee plants. And here we are.
Roaster's Reserve: El Salvador Narwhal is a natural coffee where the process is slowed down almost like a "reposado" with Tequila. In this slowed down drying process, some chemical reaction occurs resulting in some of the beans losing their coloration and turning white (blanco). With delicate hand picking and hand sorting, feeling the white beans might get tagged as quakers, these special beans had a lot more to offer. After quality testing, these white beans turned out to be the "juice" of this coffee.
If you love El Salvador Unicorn or just rare coffees in general, you don't want to miss this one. We only have 50 (yes, 50) bags of this coffee ready to roast, and it's only available here on our website, or in our brick and mortar retail shops. This would make the perfect gift for the coffee fanatic on your list — it's definitely on our wish list!
From our Head of Coffee, Josh:
Stoked to bring you a hyper exclusive coffee from El Salvador by our friend Anny Ruth Pimentel at Loma La Gloria. If you love El Salvador Unicorn, you will love this. The slow natural drying process made some beans lose coloration, but in return brought out more juice. Hand picked and sorted from the same lot as the Unicorn, these beans pack an enriched juice-punch that stood out from the rest. Dragonfruit, pink champagne, dare we say... glitter. A coffee to toast the new year!
